“Well, look it here. An annoying squawking bird trying to peck at me. Watch it you silly excuse for an animal.”
The egg began to shake for a moment and then it stilled. Then a small cracking noise began to resound. Bits of shell fell to the floor and a small nuzzle popped through the top of the egg. Young eyes peering up at the owner with a world of curiosity. Eventually the creature wrestled free from it’s shell. It’s a girl!

The look on the mages face was one of love. The little dragon had finally shed it’s shell, and was free. All that caring had payed off for sure. “Pluovia~” He purred, brushing his fingertips lightly across the dragonlings head. “Welcome to this world little beauty. I will take good care of you. Promise.”

“Are you going to be hatching soon little egg? I think so~”

His brows only rose even further to hear what lengths the mage’s previous creature went though to protect him. Who knew Wyrms had loyalty to any other than themselves? Still it unsettled the Solidor. ”Simple you say? And what of their appetite? Can you truly sate that? I just do not feel it is wise to raise a beast like that.” Vayne shook his head and let his brows fall. It seemed this man was enamored with the egg already; it would do little to try and push Kuja otherwise.

“I would not try to sate it.” Kuja said honestly. “It may feed on whatever pleases it. I do not care for any of the souls on any world as I have before. There is no longer a Terra, and no longer a reason for the souls to be needed.” He gave a slight giggle. “No, I should let it live how it wishes.”
“I’ll fate with your Wyrms?” He eyed the shell of the egg and rose a brow. It was not too different from the one Drace held. Even now his chest tightened. What if the beast were to unleash havoc upon the world? ”You seem to have a skilled hand with these creatures. You intend to keep such a mighty beast?”

“Dragons are a simple creature to care for. If you know how.” The mage said, tucking the blanket tighter around the egg. “I had once had a most beautiful creature before. Silver, and loyal. He attempted to protect me only to die in the process.” He gave a little sigh for his lost friend. “So yes. I do intend to give it.”

The mage sighed quietly to himself as he pet the egg in his arms. “I do hope your fate is different from my Silver. Zidane was not too kind to him…”
